Exhibition of jeweler`s art works and painting to be held in Smolensk
The Governor of Smolensk region Victor Maslov met the director of State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who arrived to Smolensk to participate in the opening the exhibition of jeweller`s art works and painting "Russia. a look through centuries".
The press-centre of regional administration informed that the exhibition is to become the central event of the Program ""Hermitage in the capital of Russian diamonds, realized by State Hermitage in collaboration with Smolensk state museum-preserve, Manufacturing association "Crystal", Jeweler?s centre "Crystal", under support of Smolensk region administration.
The exposition, including over a hundred works, consists of three sections. The biggest of them is dedicated with Russian portrait paintings of the XIX century, the other two present jeweler`s art works of X-XI from the largest in East Europe archeology complex in Gnezdovo and works of Russian and foreign masters of XVII-XIX, working in Russia, from the Hermitage Jewelry Gallery.
